Mr. Devin Thomas
Co-Director/Principal
My name is Devin B. Thomas. I was born and raised in Southern California and spent my formative school years driven by a singular passion: sports. While my single-minded passion for athletics helped me excel on the field, it left much to be desired in the classroom. I knew I wanted to continue playing sports after high school and decided college was the perfect place for me. Colleges, however, were not too fond of my lackluster transcripts and I realized I needed to apply myself in the classroom the same way I did on the field. I enrolled in junior college and transferred to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, graduating with a degree in Liberal Arts.
I have a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and a teaching credential and have worked with youth and young adults for over 40 years. I have worked as a coach, youth counselor, teacher of multiple subjects, high school principal, dean of students, athletic director, and even adjunct professor at Point Loma Nazarene University.
My wife and I have enjoyed the quiet life in Oroville for almost 10 years now, where both of our sons graduated from the Oroville High School District. I am an active member of the community, serving on several boards and coaching basketball.
I enjoy, in no particular order, boxing, golfing, reading, public speaking, and watching the Lakers, Rams, Angels, and UCLA Bruins (football and basketball). If any of the aforementioned teams plays poorly, please approach me with caution.
